GRAT GRANDMA

Hears Grandma, the back ground you see is the alzleimer ward of the nursing home she lives in. She looks happy and on the most part I believe she is. Her memory is getting worse all the time, but when We visit her she can remember Me and Wanda, and every thing that happened fifty years ago. She can't remember what day it is or what she had for lunch or how to read or even turn on the T.V.. When we visit, it's the high point of her day or week. We've more then once just got home from a visit and the phone would be ringing , It's Grandma wondering when were coming for a visit ," I haven't seen you for such a long time" She'll say.
My younger brother Dan came to visit her from Washington last year, She didn't remember Him. One day she wont remember me. One day she wont remember how to eat, then She wont remember how to breath . That's alzleimer's, not a nice thing.

Its definatly not a nice thing to have to watch someone you love go through that, but she does look happy in that picture. I swear she looks the same as 20 years ago!

She is very happy, she literally lives in the moment. And when her family is around her, it is the happiest moment in her life.

She looks great. We alll have to be happy that she is so happy. I hat ethe fact that she has to be there but it is the best place for her she thinks she has lived there for ever. I call one a week she never remembers that I call, But I know and that is what counts.

My oldest aunt is going through the same. God Bless your family and for all who go to visit her, too.
